FAQ
What is the Game Design Basics program?
Our Game Design Basics program offers an engaging and flexible learning experience, designed around a modular education system. The program features 8 unique classes, each blending hands-on activities with digital tools. This 50/50 approach allows students to learn foundational game design skills in a dynamic and balanced environment, combining physical crafting and digital modeling.
How does the modular system work?
The modular system allows students to choose their learning path. You can take any of the 8 classes in any order and revisit them as often as desired. This flexibility lets your child focus on the areas they are most interested in while developing a well-rounded skill set. As new programs are released, the system will expand to offer even more opportunities for growth.
What are the benefits of a modular system?
The modular system encourages independent learning and personalized progression. With a maximum class size of 12 students, each child receives individualized attention. Students can revisit classes, mix and match modules, and continue developing their skills at their own pace, ensuring a fun and effective learning experience.
Do I need to commit to the full 8-class program?
No, you don’t have to commit to the full 8-class program right away. Parents can choose to sign up for individual classes or the full 8-class program. This allows for flexibility based on your child’s interests and schedule. You can mix and match classes based on your child’s development goals.
What happens when my child completes all 8 classes?
When your child successfully completes all 8 classes, they will earn:
-
GDA Certificate of Completion
-
Exclusive GDA swag
-
8 Module Completion Badges
These accomplishments recognize their hard work and dedication to mastering key game design concepts!
Are there any prerequisites for these classes?
No prior experience is required! Our classes are designed for beginners and offer progressive learning. Whether your child is new to game design or has some prior knowledge, our instructors will provide step-by-step guidance to ensure they are engaged and supported throughout their journey.
What is the class size?
We keep our classes small, with a maximum of 12 students per class. This allows for more personalized attention and a collaborative environment where students can interact, share ideas, and receive individual feedback.
How do I register for a class?
To register for a class, simply visit our Booking Page, select the class or workshop and complete the registration process. You'll be able to secure a spot for your child in one of our hands-on, immersive classes.
Will my child receive feedback on their progress?
Absolutely! Our instructors provide continuous feedback throughout each class, helping students improve their skills and complete their projects successfully. At the end of each module, students will have the opportunity to showcase their work and receive constructive feedback.
Can I send my child to the same class more than once?
Yes, absolutely! While the content of the class remains the same, students will be encouraged to create new and unique art or game designs each time they attend. We ensure that they won't repeat the exact same projects—they'll have the opportunity to build on their skills and tackle new challenges, fostering growth with every session they return to.
Will my child do the same activities again if they take the class again?
While the class content will remain the same, we encourage new challenges each time a child returns to the class. Instructors will provide new goals, more advanced tasks, and personalized feedback to ensure your child’s learning continues to progress, even when revisiting the same class.
